The Scottish Highlands Mallaig Glenfinnan 2004

These #photographs are from The Scottish Highlands between Eilean Donan Castle, the Island of Skye and Mallaig with the historic Glenfinnan on 4th June 2004.

The Northern Hemisphere Summer is very different to Australia's in that it does not get dark until approx 9pm so if you get up early you can get a lot of driving and photography done.

James drove onto Skye via the Bridge and then used the very nice long Car Ferry from Armadale to Mallaig which was the one of the best parts of the day!

Above and Below: More car ferries, Cute houses nested in the landscape, big skies, lochs and the Island of Skye!

Above and Below: Mallaig is a port in Morar, on the west coast of the Highlands of Scotland. It faces Skye from across the Sound of Sleat. The Harbour is very beautiful and worth taking the time to photograph.

Above and Below: Glenfinnan is a hamlet in Lochaber area of the Highlands of Scotland. In 1745 the Jacobite rising began here when Prince Charles Edward Stuart raised his standard on the shores of Loch Shiel. Seventy years later, the 18 m Glenfinnan Monument, at the head of the loch, was erected to commemorate the historic event.

The Galleries, Above, each contain a selection of curated camera proofs for narrative context and your viewing pleasure.
