These #photographs are from Cordoba Spain in 2007 and include the Great Mosque of Cordoba which is well worth taking the time to visit.
In spite of the fact that there is a Roman Catholic Cathedral plonked in the middle of the Islamic Architecture the Great Mosque retains the spirit of Islam which can be felt and seen in the arabic calligraphy etched in the stone.
"The Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba is the most important monument of all the Western Islamic world, and one of the most amazing in the world. The evolution of the “Omeya” style in Spain is resumed in the history of the Mosque of Cordoba, as well as other styles such as the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque of the Christian architecture".
