Amsterdam The Netherlands 2007

Amsterdam The Netherlands 2007

These #photographs were captured during the course of a week on James' first visit to Amsterdam, The Netherlands in 2007.

After the business of travel and catching up with people in Scandinavia, James decided to opt for a week in Amsterdam to recharge and spend time exploring the canals and coffee shops.

Amsterdam in 2007 was a beautiful city and remains one of James's favourite and most visited City in the EU. The architecture with it's charming narrow and rectangular portrait format old world buildings is well worth experiencing and James says the time he took to meander around the streets and holiday rather than stop over remains one of his best travel decisions.

This was James' third visit to Amsterdam and he stayed at the Amistad Hotel on Kerkstraat 42 which is near the Liedsestraat and the Leidseplein between the Keizersgracht and Prinsengracht canals within walking distance of most places in the central city.

The Amistad Hotel was safe and friendly. The staff were very knowledgable about Amsterdam and were happy to provide tour guide information. The photographs here from the perspective of the Canal are from a most excellent guided tour organised by the Hotel, on their private boat, which allowed for stops and starts for photos!

The Gallery, Above, contains a selection of curated camera proofs for narrative context and your viewing pleasure.
