Bilbao and Guggenheim Museum Spain 2007

These #photographs are of Bilbao, Spain and the remarkable Guggenheim Museum that were taken in 2007.

The Guggenheim Museum is a massive structure that architecturally is one of the significant structures of it's kind the world and it was on James' bucket list of places to visit thanks to a documentary about it's design and construction.

The cladding of the building is quite remarkable and very tactile to touch and in relation to the light. The river provides a contrasting reflection and the bridges provide excellent vantage points to take photographs.

The reality is that the Guggenheim demands time for it to be recorded properly and this archive merely scratches the surface. Because ww know there are a few architects in the family we're including in the set of camera proofs a range of images that aimed to capture fragments of the whole.

James is aware that it is almost impossible to convey the beauty of the light at night. The fire shooting up and the smoke machines gave the large spider an even more surreal atmosphere! We hope that is reflected in these images.
