Helsinki Finland 2007

These #photographs are from James' stop over in Helsinki Finland in July 2007. The architecture of Helsinki is very striking and the old world influence is clearly seen as it nestles around the archipelago that surrounds the Port which is one of the busiest in Europe.

The influence of the Russian culture is easy to see and this is due to the close proximity to Russia who are like next door neighbours.

The Sibelius Monument proved to be a very interesting place to visit and The Three Smiths Statue, see below is quite remarkable. A highlight was the Harbour cruise which was a delightful way to experience the architecture and the beautiful landscapes.

Helsinki is a relatively "unknown" place to ordinary Australians but as James found out Finland is well worth an extended visit.

The Gallery, Above, contains a selection of curated camera proofs for narrative context and your viewing pleasure.
