These are #photographs of Norway from the vantage point of the Hurtigruten Coastal Cruise Ship, the Richard Witt in 2007.
During the Tour to the Trollfjord, the small boat met the Hurtigruten and took on passengers for the Sea Eagle Feeding excursion and these folks raved about their time aboard the large ship.
Ergo Henry, being Henry, started a whinge about the driving, he stamped his little feet and said "I want I want" and so thus coerced James said "take us to the Ship in Solvaer". There, James managed to book and pay for Henry's Car + 2 persons to travel to Honningsvag on the MV Richard Witt that was arriving in a couple of hours!
Once onboard the sun came out again so "thanks" Henry! Sometimes the cause for a journey is less important if the journey itself turns out to be a good one and while this is true this cruise included a memorable life lesson about human nature as well as being one the highlights of James' European Adventures!
That said the Hurtigruten Cruise really is a pretty spectacular way to experience the Norway Coast. The Richard Witt was a cross between a cruise ship and a car ferry and the clean rooms, the hot showers plus local food and entertainments were excellent.
James remembers sitting on a deck chair with camera in hand taking photographs while enjoying the stunning scenery and soaking up the atmosphere! The further you go north the more daylight you have and so some of these photographs were taken at 11pm at night!
The passing of another Hurtigruten was a great experience as was the organised excursion in Tromso. If you like car ferries and Boat Cruises then taking the Hurtigruten up the Coast of Norway is a great, but very expensive, way to transport yourselves to Nord Kapp to see the Midnight Sun.
